The Hawaiian Monk Seal is an endangered marine mammal that lives in the clear waters of the Hawaiian Islands. The name may reflect the fact that the Hawaiian Monk Seal lives a more solitary existence, compared to other seals that collect in large colonies. This seal is mottling. Here are some pictures from my walk today along the bike path. I visited a few different beach access points, shark's cove, Waimea, and Keiki beach. I also sent a picture of the luau food, workers getting sand off the road where the water came up and cars backed up past Foodland heading in to Haleiwa. Also, I met Ingo Rademacher on the beach ... very cool! ...................................................................... thursday january 10, 2008
